Sim, essa banda ai muita gente ja conhece, espero eu.

O System of a Down usa uma grande variedade de instrumentos, incluindo guitarra barítona, mandolins elétricos, cítaras, violões de doze cordas entre outros instrumentos asiáticos. Suas principais influências são as bandas mais antigas de rock alternativo, mas eles também foram influenciados pelo Heavy Metal, Punk Rock , Jazz, Fusion, Música folk da Armênia, Rock, Rock Clássico, Blues e Industrial.

Eles lançaram o seu primeiro álbun em 1998 que se chamava apenas System of a Down e alcançou algum sucesso com o compacto "Sugar" tocando bastante em rádios nos Estados Unidos, seguido pelos compactos "Spiders" e "War?"

Entre 2004 e 2005 a banda gravou tantas músicas que resolveu lançar dois discos no mesmo ano. No início de 2005 a canção "Cigaro" foi colocada na internet por membros da equipe da banda e causou sensação entre os fãs. O álbum Mezmerize foi lançado nos Estados Unidos e na Europa em 17 de Maio de 2005 e na Austrália em 22 de Maio de 2005.
